The Caenid is a delicate dry fly designed to imitate tiny caenid mayflies, a critical food source when trout become highly selective and focused on small surface insects. When caenids are on the water, trout are often completely tuned in and will ignore larger or less precise patterns-  this fly is designed specifically for those situations.
