Riseley Trout Flies- Palmered Red Tag
All Riseley Trout Flies are hand tied in Tasmania to exacting specifications and a high degree of attention to detail, craftsmanship and consistency. Each Riseley Trout Fly in the range is a proven fish catcher so you can be sure they will not just appeal to the angler, but even more importantly, those picky trout. All flies are tied on quality barbless hooks using high end materials.
The Palmered Red Tag is a buoyant attractor dry fly that fishes as a beetle‑style pattern, combining a dark, buggy profile with a bright red tag to create a strong surface trigger. The palmered hackle gives the fly excellent flotation and a lively outline, allowing it to sit confidently on the surface while suggesting movement and vulnerability.
This fly excels on rivers and lakes, particularly when trout are feeding opportunistically on terrestrials or cruising and looking up. It is an excellent searching dry when no obvious hatch is present and works especially well in low light conditions, where its contrast and silhouette stand out clearly on the water. Often the first fly tied on for a day speculating, and may never leave!
